Every element of this statue carries profound spiritual significance.

• Flaming Sword (Kadga): Held high in the right hand, the double-edged sword is Manjushri's most defining attribute. It represents the power of sharp wisdom, capable of cutting through avidya (ignorance), delusions, and the root causes of suffering. The flame indicates that this wisdom is transformative and illuminates the world.

• Lotus and Scripture: The left hand forms the vitarka mudra (gesture of debate or teaching) at chest level, gently grasping the stem of a lotus flower. The flower blossoms beside the left shoulder, bearing a scripture. This book is the Prajnaparamita Sutra (Sutra of Perfected Wisdom), symbolizing the ultimate realization of truth.

• Lotus Throne: The double-lotus throne upon which Manjushri sits represents purity and divine birth. Just as a lotus grows from muddy water yet remains unstained by the mud, so too does enlightenment arise from a world of suffering without being defiled by its impurities.

• Bodhisattva Adornments: The elaborate earrings, necklace, bracelets, and intricate crown signify Manjushri's noble status as a bodhisattva. A bodhisattva is an enlightened being who chooses to remain in this world to help all sentient beings achieve the same state.

炎の剣（カドゥガ）: 右手に高く掲げられた両刃の剣は、文殊菩薩の最も決定的な特徴です。無明（無知）、妄想、そして苦しみの根本原因を断ち切る、鋭利な知恵の力を表しています。炎は、この知恵が変容をもたらし、世界を照らし出すものであることを示しています。

• 蓮華と経典: 左手は胸元で説法印・論議印（ヴィタルカ・ムドラー）の形をとり、蓮の花の茎をそっと握っています。花は左肩の横で咲き誇り、その上には経典が乗せられています。この書物は『般若経』（完成された知恵の経典）であり、真理の究極の悟りを象徴しています。

• 蓮華座: 座している二重の蓮華座は、純粋さと神聖な誕生を表しています。蓮が泥水の中から育ちながらも泥に染まらないように、悟りもまた、苦しみに満ちた泥のような世界から生じながらも、その汚れに染まることはないという教えを示しています。

• 菩薩の装身具: 重厚な耳飾り、首飾り、腕輪、そして複雑な宝冠は、菩薩としての高貴な地位を表しています。菩薩とは、自ら悟りを開きながらも、すべての衆生が同じ境地に到達するのを助けるために、この世界に留まることを選んだ存在です。
